The number is normally 17 digits long and in most cases can be found on the headstock (see red outline in the picture on the right), and on the Registration Document (V5C). Although in the case of Scooters and Quads it is often stamped both somewhere on the main frame and on a black and silver plate riveted somewhere else on the main frame.
