Suzuki Technician of the Year 2007

Diagnostics on a GSX-R1000 K7

I am sure that all of you, would like to join all the staff at Bill Smith Motors (Gwynedd) in wishing our technician Steve Hauxwell all the best following his victory in the 2007 Suzuki Technician of the year.

Beating over 400 other technicians, from all major Suzuki dealerships in the UK, in the hotly contested event. The contest is run through out the year, starting with a series of four written technical question papers, to eliminate all but the top five entrants. Then the remaining five are invited down to Suzuki's headquarters in Milton Keynes for a series of five timed thirty minute practical examinations, carried out on the latest Suzuki machines and covering subjects as diverse as electrical diagnosis,  measurement and engine assembly  to decide the winner.

For Steve this represents something of a major achievement, as he has come second in this contest for the last three years, creditable but very frustrating!

Anyway great result Steve !!!

So if you want  the very best in motorcycle servicing and repair come to Bill Smiths Gwynedd.

2008 Second Place in the Yamaha Technician Grand Prix

Thursday 15th January 2009.

The six finalists had a grueling day of difficult technical exercises to complete and when the scores were all calculated at the end of the day, it was a very close thing.

However, the final results of the competition were:

1st Place: Nigel Cartwright - Alf England Ltd

2nd Place: Stephen Hauxwell - Bill Smith Motors Ltd, Gwynedd

3rd Place: David Ball - Fowlers of Bristol

A very creditable result for Steve bringing his tally of results to:

Suzuki

First Place (2007) and three second places

Yamaha

Four second places

No other contestant in either competition has achieved such consistency, you can be assured that Bill Smiths Bangor definitely has one of the best technicians in the country.
