Yamaha YZF-R1
2008 Yamaha's legendary R1 was massively updated for 2007 featuring
new
technology to provide the ultimate performance and handling both on the road and on the
track, so for 2008 it remains essentially the same bike. New innovations include the radical YCC-I (Yamaha Chip
Controlled - Intake) the
world's first electronically controlled , motor drive intake stacks on a production bike.
That coupled to the MotoGP derived YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled - Throttle) combine to
give extremely refined power delivery for exceptional engine performance. Other
improvements include a new four valve cylinder head with Titanium valves inspired by
Yamaha's awesome M1 MotoGP bike. While the chassis incorporates a newly redesigned
Deltabox frame, 'upside down' truss type swinging arm and all new six piston
radially-mounted front brake calipers.
